CBCT

Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)

Dental Cone Beam technology (3D scan) is a specialized x-ray that provides a more accurate view of your teeth, jaw, nerves and upper sinuses than a conventional 2 dimensional x-ray.

CBCT is now the standard care and necessary when placing dental implants to help us provide the best level of care. The positioning and capturing of the 3D images takes only a few minutes to preform.  The radiation exposure risk with 3D scan is relatively small. CBCT technology also allows us to digitally plan the placement of a dental implant in the jaw within 1/10 of a millimeter of the digiital plan. This is particularly useful for placing implants to replace front teeth, as it allows us to develop the tissues around the implant restoration, to maximize esthetics.
