First and foremost, we hope you are well. We are looking forward to returning to more normal routines and we want to update you on our steps going forward. Our main focus is on everyone’s safety during this challenging time.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. When you receive care in our office we need our processes to be safe and comfortable for both patients and staff. We have always followed the recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in regard to infection control procedures. We follow these agencies closely so we are up-to-date on any new guidance or rulings that may be issued. We do this to make sure our infection control procedures are current and adhere to these agencies’ recommendations.
COVID-19 is going to bring about changes in the delivery of dental care, in a way not seen since HIV came into the national conscience in the mid 1980's. You will see changes when it is time for your next appointment. We have made these changes to protect our patients and staff. Some examples are:
- We will contact you before appointments to ask some screening questions. You will be asked these questions again upon arrival for an appointment.
- We will ask you wear a mask and use hand sanitizer when you enter the office.
- Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. This may mean you are offered fewer options for scheduling appointments and may not always see your hygienist of choice.
- We will implement strategies to reduce the number of patients in the reception area and will not be able to have other people without appointments waiting in the office.
We look forward to resuming our relationships with you and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you and our staff safe. Please be patient as we all work toward the goal of safety and quality dental care. There may also be stops and starts depending on the availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to seeing you.
